TSKe - "Treasury of Scripture Knowledge Enhanced & Expanded"

Postby doctordavet » Sat Oct 23, 2010 9:12 am

Hello, DDTrs,

I recently ran across a .cmtx module that I wanted to share with everyone in spite of it's possible need of proofreading. It is the NEW TSKe - "Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, Enhanced & Expanded."

Those who are interested in the details of this very helpful project should go here - http://bibleanalyzer.com/tske-copy.htm. Timothy Morton has taken the time to "reciprocate" the public domain version of the TSK. His "expansion" and "enhancement" includes an extra 100,000 cross references. Quite nice. (He has also added thousands of extra references that are not "reciprocations.")

The conversion to eS/TW that we provide here on DDT.com was actually made by eSU member "Dyan." This quote comes from Dyan's post about it:

I have found an excellent resource for e-sword at https://sites.google.com/site/wsbones/, it is the TSK enhanced version by Tim Morton. Please read the conditions and copyright notice. It is in raw text form in htm format (i'm not sure, i'm no expert), so if someone would like to convert it, it would really be a great blessing to all e-sword users. I've done a conversion myself, for my own personal use, but it may contain a lot of errors.

So, there may be a few booboos in it. On 10/23/2010, eSU member "Will Brinson Ferguson" posted two errors to the TSKe text at eSU. He found two places where a foreign language word did not get transferred over from TSK to TSKe.

So, what we have is an incredibly helpful commentary module that could use a proofread. The proofreading of this project is larger than I am willing to tackle; and I am unwilling to ask any of OMLB to proofread it, either.

I think this module is very helpful and productive as is, but if one of our users would like to get started in a large proofreading job, the entire eSword and The Word communities would be quite grateful.

"Dyan," thank you for making this module available to us.

I have used this module already in some studies and I have not come accross any blatant errors. In my opinion this is a wonderful asset to both ESword and the word

TSKe Version 1.1 UPDATE is now Posted at DDT

Postby doctordavet » Thu Oct 28, 2010 8:55 am

Hi, DDTers,

the module builder "Dyan" has just sent me an update. Here are Dyan's update notes:
1) All missing Greek/Hebrew words updated
2) Missing entry for Psalm 37:1 updated
3) Missing entry for Psalm 117:1 updated
4) Errors and missing entries in Psalm 119 updated
5) Corrected other minor typos, and characters

As far as i can tell, the TSKe is now nearly perfect, except for some minor typos.

To access this update, simply go to http://www.DoctorDaveT.com and click on the "Commentaries" tab.

Second UPDATE to Version 1.2

Postby doctordavet » Fri Nov 05, 2010 11:13 am

Hi, DDTers,

Well, "Dyan" has done it again!

When Tim Morton released his raw notes to TSKe version 1.2, our "Dyan" was quick to jump on updating our .cmtx file. Just released now is "TSKe Version 1.2" - a definite upgrade over version 1, and a relative upgrade to version 1.1. I asked Dyan what the upgrade included, and here was his response:
The creator of TSKe, Tim Morton has generously allowed us to have a copy of "TSKe version 1.2"

These are the changes made in "TSKe ver 1.2":

1) The insertion of Hebrew and Greek words in around 430 entries
2) Numerous minor corrections
3) Some changes to the format
4) Mostly all references have been placed in book order

I so much appreciate Dyan's spirit of generosity and service. Our Lord Jesus Christ knows no racial nor political boundaries! Amen! God bless you, Dyan! Thank you for your significant contributions to the universal eS/TW library.
